Vocabulary practice
Build a puzzle around spelling words, science terms or a topic you have already introduced. Finding a word practices letter recognition; it does not by itself test its meaning.
Make a word search from your own words. Choose grid size and directions, preview the puzzle, and download a printable PDF with its answer key.

A word search generator hides a supplied word list in a grid of letters. Players find each word along a straight line. This word search maker creates an English-letter puzzle and a matching answer sheet from the same layout, so printing never changes where the words are.
Use the 12 fruit words in the tool, choose a 12 × 12 grid, allow diagonals and leave backward words off. Generate once, check the included count, then download the puzzle and answer PDF. If a word does not fit, enlarge the grid before generating again.

Use forward-only words and a smaller vocabulary for an introductory activity. Add diagonals or backward directions when the group is ready.
Create a themed handout for a club, family activity or event using your own short words.
Words may cross where their letters agree. With backward words off, horizontal words run left to right and vertical words run down; enabled diagonals also run down. Backward mode adds their reverse directions.
Longer words are placed first. A word longer than the grid cannot fit; crowded grids can also leave words out. Only included words appear in the word bank and answer key. The page and PDF identify omissions.
Unused cells receive random letters. They can accidentally spell an extra word or form another occurrence of a listed word. The answer key highlights the placements created by the generator.
This version accepts A–Z letters only. It rejects spaces, punctuation, accented letters and duplicate words instead of silently rewriting them.
Exports use the current result without generating again. After editing inputs, generate a new result to apply the changes. Downloaded PDFs use high-resolution page images on A4 paper; they are printable but their text is not selectable. Use available copy or CSV options when you need editable text.
Your entered names, words, clues and tasks are processed in this browser. These tools do not upload them, put them in the URL, store them in browser storage or include them in analytics events. Refreshing or leaving the page discards the current result. General site analytics still run; see the privacy policy.
