A random name generator creates new name candidates from a selected source. Use a single name for a profile card or a batch for a demo staff list. This tool generates names; it does not select a winner from a roster you provide.
For a spreadsheet column, choose a name source and gender, set Count to 100 in More settings, and generate. Open Copy for a list or layout and choose Copy names as lines. Paste into the first cell of your name column. Generating a complete person is optional.
Yes. Set Count to 100 in More settings and generate. Copy names as lines gives one full name per line; Copy all names is also available in More actions for a batch. JSON and CSV exports use the current results.
Choose Copy names as lines to paste one name per row. For selected columns, use Copy selected columns (TSV) in Copy for a list or layout; its first row contains column headings. JSON is intended for structured data rather than direct column pasting.
Yes. Choose an included name source and gender before generating. The source selects naming data; it does not determine a person’s residence or guarantee every possible naming convention is represented.
They are fictional candidates built from naming data and may coincide with real names. Repeated names are possible, so a generated name should not be used as a unique database identifier.
Yes. Select a name and choose Build profile. The selected name is retained while the tool adds profile details. For splitting an existing roster, use Random Team Generator instead.
